Blessing in Disguise

Today was suppose to be a pretty ordinary day. I went into work early since I was doing e-mails by myself. Since taking the rush hour bus in the morning is a treat, (straight in) I don't really mind. So I started and was pretty confident that everything was being well handled and I was not overwhelmed. The day went as planned until about 6:00. This was when my manager (Mr Incognito) and my supervisor brought me into a room to have a chat. It seems the contract I'm working on is not please with my work and wants me gone. I have been making mistakes on 1% of my tickets and they were looking for someone perfect. If they want a new punching bag they can have it. E-mails are stressful and get real boring after a while. My manager told me that he was not happy with their decision and values me as a strong employee. They wish to keep me on to review and assist the others of the sempra team. A more behind the scenes role. No more e-mails. What a relief! I feel I'm getting taller. It gets better. My manager told me that he had heard I had asked to be promoted to a new position and he was going to do everything to see that they hire me. What an odd turn of events. My interview is next Wednesday so I'll keep myself busy until then. If everything goes well, onward and upward. It will mean new and improve job, hours and salary.

Keep your fingers crossed.

  1. That's awesome! Well, not the initial sense of dread you must have felt but the outcome is definitely positive! I am keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you!
