I just wish Hailey was excited as I was. I had to bribe her with park to wear it. Funny how she chose the blue buttons and I thought it was a little odd with purple but now that it's all together I love them.

Smart Purple Cord Jacket
I just completed my first coat. It's a purple corduroy jacket for Hailey. I am thrilled and pretty proud I must say. The pattern was pretty straight forward with a few new techniques I had never tried before. I finished the jacket pattern and decided it needed a lining. Both to keep her a little warmer and to cover all the fraying edges in the corduroy. I have never lined anything before so I had to really think about it and make sure all the edges were hidden. It turned out pretty nice although my hand stitching could use a little work.

That is a seriously cute coat and kid! You're right about the blue buttons too, would never have thought of it, but it looks fab. Was great to meet you on Saturday. I look forward to seeing what you make with all the fabric you bought! :)
