The last couple of weeks have been fun with Vanessa evolving everyday. I'd just like to take a moment to write some of the cuteness down.
Vanessa:
-Loves to wear her car charger for an old phone around her neck. It reminds me of a seamstress with a measuring tape or a doctor with a stethoscope.
-Has started to give kisses and also blow kisses if you're leaving. When she sees people getting ready to leave she starts waving goodbye.
-She asks for milk with the sign pretty regularly and nods yes when I confirm it's what she wants.
-She can follow some instructions like "sit on your bum". She learned this one in the bathtub. "Let's go downstairs" and she beelines for the door in her bedroom. "Stand Up" this one is new now that she can walk.
-She can do the actions to "If you're happy and you know it". Clap your hands, stomp your feet and say hooray.
She's down for a nap now. She has a messy cold. Yuck. Slime and short fuse makes for lots of baths. I put a bib on her. It cuts down on the slimy clothes. Hopefully she'll be better for father's day.

My sweet fawn
Vanessa is now bipedal. Sometimes. As you can see in the video she does a really good rendition of Bambie. This week during playgroup she stood up without the assistance of anything to steady her. I was very excited. She's not shy. She first performed this move in the middle of a circle of about 20 spectators. She's not walking all the time and needs some encouragement but it won't be long. She seems to walk best in grass. I don't know if it's the soft landing, the prickly grass when she crawls or my lawn has less clutter than my house.
So that's Vanessa's status on the walking. Now I've got to learn to run. (Good thing I have 30 less pounds to haul. :-) )
