Peek-A-Boo !

I'm so excited. Vanessa is now starting to really play with us. Last night she played peek-a-boo with MJ for the first time. Since it wasn't a one time shot, I was able to get out the camera and take video. We had a blast.

Young Explorer $2,125.00

When I saw this I thought, you've got to be kidding me. This Young Explorer is a full fledged computer and desk. This computer is more powerful than my own. I'm all for spoiling little ones but this is ridiculous. I could buy a couple of computers for this price.

I'm sure Vanessa will get her very own PC some day but not at that price and I'm sure it won't be at 3 years old. Leappad is as far as we're going to go.

Little steps

I'm so excited. Vanessa picked up her sippy cup and drank from it on her own. She picked it up by the edge with one hand and the side of the cup with the other hand. She gave me a look of pride and excitement over the edge of her glass while gulping down the water. Now she'll be able to drink to her own thirst.

Last night we went to my parents and Christina made roast beef for dinner with bread pudding for desert. I took a few pictures of Vanessa. Filled 1gb card with video and pictures.

Vanessa had a great time with this ball of aluminum foil. She loved the texture on her hands. She would also put it in her mouth and then a couple of seconds later she would get the shivers with this metalic taste in her mouth.

Honey bunches also loves the texture of Daddy's head. Here she's holding on and standing. She actually let go and turned. Hmm... maybe she'll walk before she crawls. We'll just have to wait and see.

Looks like Vanessa's eyes are going to stay blue and sometimes a hint of blue. No matter what colour they are they will always be beautiful.

A meeting of the minds.

Vanessa's tired so she has a cup of coffee to keep her awake.

Vanessa Evening Rolls

This is a video of Vanessa in the evenning playing on her mat. She loves to take it apart and play with the edges.

Classic Pictures

I love this picture as much as Vanessa is enjoying her blueberries. Good thing we have stain remover. So far Vanessa loves all foods. Sometimes she doesn't like the consistency. Too dry or too lumpy.

Check out the shoes. Uncle Tim bought Vanessa super cute shoes. Vanessa got to wear them twice. They're authentic curling shoes. She could get in the hack and throw a rock. Maybe she should master walking first...

Laptop "Give 1, Get 1"

A post that is not Vanessa related. Imagine that. I was listening to one of my podcast today, CBC.ca Search Engine and they talked about a laptop per child in the world. There's a company that has created laptops for 20o$. They have a basic Linux OS, a thumb drive for hard drive and a powerfull wi-fi. They can be self powered by solar or a crank.

Here's there website. One Laptop per Child It's an amazing thing. Two laptops can be purchased for 400$. You donate one and then you get one.

Look at the smiles

Vanessa is very comfortable sitting on her own and travels backwords, sideways and rolls with ease. Her next move is too crawl. She's getting pretty strong with picking up her toys and moving them around. The toy of the month is a train set my parents gave her. I'll upload some video of her playing with it soon enough. For now here are some good ones.

Since the carpet we had was molting we bought Vanessa a fun play mat. She loves and has already figured out how to remove some of the letters.

Check out those cheeks in her toothless grin!

Look Mommy I found the tag. Vanessa loves tags. If there's a tag on an item she'll find it.

She has grown

Eric took this picture on the week-end after I commented that Vanessa does not sleep on my that much these days. I love the fact that she naps twice a day and plays until it's bed time (most days) but I still miss the warmness of her fast asleep drooling on me. After looking at the picture we realised how much she's grown. We know that she's growing day by day but there are moments when it really hits you.
Here are some pictures to compare.

This is from a time when Vanessa could sleep all day!

Boy do I look lazy in this picture. I sent Vanessa to bed right after this.

Night time bliss

She naps! She naps on a regular basis and I really notice it when it doesn't happen. The lenght varries but anything over 30 minutes is welcome. I get to do what ever I want. Mostly clean kitchen, read my blogs, read my book or nap. Sometimes I make dinner. I'll try my slow cooker more this week. This means being more organized but Vanessa's morning nap is way more regular. It will make everyone happier and dinner time more relaxing. Nothing better than a nice hot cooked meal you just spoon out at dinner time when you're ready.

She can play on her own for quite a while. It's a joy to watch her get excited over an item. She found lots of pleasure in a Kleenex pulled straight from the box. V loves empty creamers. It's a great thing at a restaurant. She lookes at things a whole new way.

Halloween

It's a bird! It's a plane! No... It's super baby.
Up...Up...and away!

My latest superpower is the ability to sit and conquer my toys.

I have the power of cuteness and melt hearts everywhere.

My weakness is candy but next year we'll defeat it.
