Back to home life.

Mmmm... FOOD! Vanessa has started eating solid foods. This is great for everyone. We started her off on rice cereal. That was an easy sell. She gobbled it down. Then we went for smashed banana's with a fork. She spat that out. Yucky slimy texture. We tried apples. too tart. We'll put them on the back burner for a while. You'd think we'd given her lemon. She squished up her face and her whole body shook. We've now tried puree banana's and she likes them and pears. This week we started on green beans. She spits them out since they're not as sweet. We'll also try them later. Here's a video

Last week of Vacation

We spent our last week of vacation at my grandparents. It was a nice relaxing week where we ate, walked and spent time with family. As always, my grandmother served us great meals. I must not leave out her excellent pie.

Here are a few pictures.

Great-Grandpa took Vanessa for a walk and tired her out.

Eric took the Port-Alberni Scenic train. If you'd like to see a few more pics, ask Eric.

Great-Grandpa holding happy Vanessa.

Now it's Great-Grandma's turn.

This is the view at sunset at Grandma and Grandpa's

This picture is for my mom. hehehe

Grandpa and Eric watched a hockey game locally. Eric said it was good hockey and a block away. We stayed home with Vanessa and watched "The Queen". Definitely not my favorite movie.

We're so glad we made the trip out west. We had a great time. Vanessa sure won't remember but everyone else will and that's what counts!

Vaccation: Time With Julie, Mark and Laura

We spend a fab week-end with Julie and her family in Vancouver area. Laura is a lovely baby. She's smilley, huggable and full of joy. She gave us a preview of 3 months from now. Julie and Mark treated us to a steak dinner we won't soon forget in their lovely home.

We spent the day with Janet, Steven, Garey and Caroline and of course Meaghan.

Vaccation cont...

I'd like to apologise. I overlooked a very special part of our trip. Our time with Peter, Ila and the kids. We went over there on the first full day in BC. We met the kids. We fell in love with them instantly. It was great to relax and play all day. We played with rescue vehicles, watched rabbits, feed the ducks and had fun. Here are a few pictures from our time there.

Ella in ready for a walk to see the ducks.

Keon with his sunnies. Also ready for the ducks.

Ella in the Cadillac of bike trailers. (I've never been so jealous.)

Keon and Eric feeding the ducks.
Pit stop at the park on the way back. Can't miss the park!

Vacation Week1

It's now later and I'm getting around to posting. Vanessa is fast asleep and Eric is at softball.

We had a fantastic time on our 2 week vacation visiting friends and family. We took the time to smell the roses this time and just enjoyed everyone's company.

Our time in West Bank was great. Vanessa enjoyed spending time with her grandfather listing to him hum her to sleep. We went to see the Kettle Valley Railway after the fires a couple of years ago. We went out in the morning and walked the rail trail. It felt like we had the trail to ourselves. It was a spectacular sunny and breezy day. We saw the burnt trestles and forest but also the restoration that has been going on. It would be a beautiful ride once it's done. (not for my Koosah)

This is a view of the burnt trees with the new growth. It's amazing to see it grow back after only a couple of years.

This looks down to valley to Kelowna and the lake

The trestles are being rebuilt at a good pace. One by one we'll be able to enoy them in the network of recreational paths.

We also played mini-golf on real grass, went to a vineard and a brewry. We went out for a few very enjoyable walks in the area. Great-Grandpa Senez loved to push Vanessa around in the stroller. Vanessa loves her stroller rides. The bumpier the better.

We bought Vanessa two bathing suites for her swim classes and couldn't waite to try one out. We got out the kiddie pool and filled it with warm water. (spoiled) It was worth it just for the smiles.

This one really cramped her style so for her swimming lessons she's wearing a 12mo. suit which fits fine.

After the lovely week, we travelled to Vancouver to spend time with friends. I'll leave that for another day.

Swimming lessons

Vacation post will be soon....

Hello! long time no post. Vanessa is registered for Swimming lessons this fall. Daddy brought her to her first lesson. She loved it!! Smiles all around and she kicks like a natural. It also looks like Daddy had a blast too. One on one time with his happy daughter. Nothing beats that. Mommy watched from the sidelines. Later I'll try and post a short video. They all turned out pretty well even though it was through a window in a fairly dark pool.

Vanessa came home from the pool and nursed a little and napped for 40min!!!! This is great and next time home alone for Mommy!
