What a great week-end. We kicked it off Friday night by going to McKibbins. Met up with some friends and had some great food. Too bad the service sucked. Kay and I went over to Chapters. I looked for some biking books of NY state and didn't find one of the 15 I was looking for but Kay left with a handfull of things. Good for her! I think I'm going to have to go to the states to look at the books I want.
While we were out living it up, Christina was packing. We picked up the rental truck Saturday morning and helped her move. By 1:30, we were all done. We had 2 hand carts and no stairs at her appartment. That helped a lot. Everything went off without a hitch. It was a beautiful day especially when the sun peaked from between the clouds.
We went back to my parents for lunch and for Christina to freshen up. I had to drop Eric at work since one of his employees smelled like skunk. For real! After Christina had a shower, I brought her back to her new apartment and we put her bed together and put up some curtains. We went out for dinner at General Taos. MMMmmm... Christina ordered extras so she could have left overs. We brought her back to the appartment to settle in. I went home and tried to read my book. That lasted about 15 minutes before I fell asleep at 8:30. We were all very tired.
Today I went over in the morning and helped Christina with another set of curtains, moved some furniture around, assembled a table and put up her shower curtain. Best of all I gave her internet connection until the videotron guy comes on Tuesday. Mommy and Daddy also came over. Mommy set up Christina's kitchen. Eric put up the last of her curtains. Daddy helped where we asked. Christina can live comfortably in her new home. She still has a few more boxes but nothing urgent. Her place is quite large and sunny. She should be very happy there.

Shop 'till you drop.

Yippy Christina has finally found a home of her own. She signed the lease last Saturday and she's moving in this Saturday! We are all very excited for her. The location is perfect. 15 min walk to Panama so it doesn't really matter as much her shift. Too bad her office is moving to Cote-de-Liesse. It still won't be so bad and she'll be on the shore to visit everyone.

We had a beautiful week-end. Lots of fun in the sun. Earlier this week, Jo-Anne had decided to price toaster ovens with convection and Christina told me she would be needing a stove for her new apartment so I volunteered to go with Jo-Anne and price stoves for her. There sure are a lot of options. It's really hard to compare but I gave her my suggestion and it looks like she's going to take it. We did 7 stores before Jo-Anne found what she liked best and jumped on it. It's a Black and Decker that does everything she was looking for and more at a great price. We found it at Canadian Tire. We went in there to buy a spring for the back windsheild wiper and to look at ice skates for me. We found everything we were looking for. One stop shopping!

Jo-Anne and I picked Christina up at the bus and took her to sign the lease and take a sneak peak at the apartment. Mommy and Daddy also showed up. It was a good thing because pip squeak left her cheques at home. Landlords sure like checks when you sign on the doted line.
The apartment is perfect for her. There's lot of light in the afternoon but probably not the morning. Very nice for sleeping in in the summer. It has 2 bedrooms and has been freshly painted and varnished. The kitchen is workable and she has a large living room but cozy dining area. There's a patio outside where we suggested she have a pic-nic table. Harder to steal in her open patio then patio furniture.

That night Christina, Mommy and Daddy came over for Benny. At CT Jo-Anne bought Eric a tool bag. He was so excited that he went downstairs before dinner was finished and filled it with toys to take to Tim and Chris'. He went over that evening to help them out. He's sure having a good time in their kitchen.

Sunday we did a little cleaning and groceries. Eric took my new skates to be sharpened while I made dinner. We met Heidi in the Old Port and went skating at Bonsecour basin. It was a fabulous day and lot of fun. We went round and round. Eric showed off with his skating ability.
We went back to the house. When we walked in we got a whiff of dinner. I had put on pot roast in the slow cooker and Eric put bread on to be ready by 6pm. What a luxury to walk into the house with everything tidy and a home cooked dinner ready. I showed Heidi my UK video we had appetizer and then had a nice dinner with wine and everything. I didn't get around to making desert so we had chocolate shot glasses with liqueur. Very nice finish to an evening.

I'm all 'bent up

Hi! Thought I'd post a little something.

There's been nothing too interresting. I usually like winter but this year has drainned me and I've already started planning for the summer. Last summer Eric and I started cycling. We enjoyed it a lot. It got us out doing something physical and in the outdoors visiting new places or seeing old ones from a new angle.

We're going to keep that up this summer. We're in the process of planning a trip to Western New York State. The cycling is suppose to be great and the Rail-Trails make it even better. We're going to camp and cycle. I've checked out the camping online and it looks promissing.

One of the reasons we're heading out that way is that The Bicycle Man is there. He has a very large selection of recumbent bikes. The Koosah from Burley is the recumbent I'm very interrested in. These bikes are a large investment and even though The Bicycle Man store is almost 8 hours away, it's worth the visit. Whether I buy a bike or not, the trip will be enjoyable with the great campsites and bike routes. I have found Koosah at my local bike store but I want to try it out and compare to others. Montreal is very limited in the selection. The Bicycle Man has 50 different models I can try out. I'm looking forward to the trip. Too bad it's not until June.
I now finish at 6pm. I was so excited on Monday to see a small hint of lingering daylight on my way home. Soon!!! we'll be eating out in the gazebo and BBQing on a regular basis.
