Ultrasound

On Tuesday we went for our first ultrasound. What an amazing experience. We're happy to know the baby has all the right limbs and has lots of energy. Lots of moving around. I often couldn't tell if I was looking at a leg or an arm but I'm sure once the baby's born it will be obvious. We had told the technician that we didn't want to know the sex of the baby. Near the end of the exam she said we couldn't change our minds because she probably couldn't tell today because of the positioning of the baby. It was sitting on it's feet. We saw the baby with it's hand to it's mouth with it's little pinky up as if it was drinking tea. Even after that Eric still thinks it's a boy. Power of positive thinking. Maybe a boy would be better. A little girl would have Eric around her little finger.
Last night I had my first baby dream. Strange how the baby didn't look like either of us. The dream was about hearing our baby's first word. It was "more"! Sounds like a good first word. I've heard mine was "up" as in up:to be picked up or up:to get out of my high chair to go down. What a universal word. Jo-Anne has told me that Eric's first word was balloon. It came after seeing one of those toys out of a cereal box that was propelled by a balloon.
The anticipation is growing just like my belly. A little at a time but soon enough we'll be ready to burst.
