Oh. the memories

A couple of weeks ago I scanned in all the pictures that I owned. This only took me the afternoon because I did a fast job and there aren't that many. On Saturday Pamela was sending me picutres from Tofino and I sent back picutres from the same location but mine were about 8 years old.
I love this picture. It has not been edited at all. It has a vague Ansel Adams wannabe feel.
I found this great pic of Patricia. "all smiles" Jenny's there hiding in the shadows up at Wathikane.
See Laurel, I didn't forget you. How did you get Pamela to get her space tidy?
This is my great-grandfather on my fathers side. He's sporting the Aslin sweatshirt he got for Christmas. This is the last picture I have of him. I love this picture. He always looks so happy.

This picture is Sooo Pamela! She still looks the same.

Hope everyone enjoys my trip down memory lane

Mechanically inclined friends

This morning I found out the rack that I went all the way down to Burlington, VT to buy is too short for my bike. I was very upset and was wanting to go to rackultra to send back sell my new rack. According to their site they do not open on Sundays. I decided to not sweat the small stuff and go for a ride since there was nothing wrong with my bike... little did I know. I did about 17kms on my bike and loved every minute of it. I rode down the bike path behind our house and found a new park. It's a huge green space with a lake in it. Very well taken care of and a friendly amount of traffic. I saw another 'bent there. Nothing like mine. Another woman my age getting exercise. She looked like she was having fun too. I met Eric at the house for lunch since he was out on his bike too but with Joel. He did a lot more KMs than I did but I'm still building muscles.
We went off to Paul and Murielle's for our annual car wash. It was sunny but crisp out. I showed off my bike and listened to Murielle's advice on Lebanese cooking. I learned a lot and the food was tasty.
I had everyone who wanted to try my bike. It was fun for all. Tim noticed that my handle bars were set up backwards. I didn't believe him but he ran inside and confirmed it online. We turned the neck around and now my bike is better than ever. The second day I got it I sheared off some of the threads in the steering and that was because it wasn't meant to go that way. What a relief that I wasn't to rough on my bike and I couldn't handle it.
Lets not forget Paul's suggestion. It saved me lots of money on a new bike rack. He suggested that when mounting my bike on the bike rack I turn the forks around. Genius! It gave me a few inches and now my tire sits on the rack. Yippy!

Come back soon. I've got more to post but I'm off to bed all this talking about biking has made me tired.

Trip to Burlington

Saturday morning we got up bright and early (for us) and set out to go to Burlington for the day. It was a beautiful day. We invited Jo-Anne to tag along. Good thing she's an early riser on the week-end we didn't mind calling at 7:30. We drove down with our iPod on. iPods make the trip shorter. We went straight to RackWharehouse. They had a bike rack there that was more than 100$ cheaper than anywhere else even counting the tax and exchange. We bought out all of their one in stock put it on the car and left. I begged Eric to stop for breakfast. We went to Friendly's. This reminded me how spoiled we are in Montreal with quality food especially breakfasts. We went to two books stores, EMS and Magic Hat Brewery. All lots of fun. Too bad it rained on my favorite part of Burlington. Walking down the outdoor mall isn't so fun in the rain. Doesn't inspire window shopping. We drove home in the rain and Eric dropped us off and then went off to Becket.
Since Mommy was off to a Guiding week-end, we invited Daddy over for Szechwan. It was take-out and I gave Christina the wrong number to order so we ended up with a lot of very spicy food with mostly shrimp. Everyone seemed to like what they were given especially Eric who had a huge serving the next day.
