Playing catch up

It's been a while since I've posted. I'll just summarize. We went down town TO two weeks ago. Met up with our friend Chandresh for Jack's. They gave us free food for the "slow" service. We did not notice any slow service but who are we to turn down free food!!! We drove home the next day and it was a nice drive. I LOVE our MP3 player in the car. Once CD there and on CD back. We still have to figure out the best way to burn them but that will come.
Once we were back in La Belle Province de Quebec, Pamela insisted we eat a St-Hubert BBQ. We ate in the bar area. It's great now that they don't allow smoking anymore in their chain. A good time was had by all!
Last week I worked while Pamela met up with friends and did some more shopping and passport stuff. She splurged and took me to Club Price for dinner. (repaying me for ensuring we were stocked with toilet paper and English muffins)
Last week-end we went over to Jamie and Morgans for his b-day party. We had a blast as usual. It's always nice to see everyone. Ethan is growing soo fast I can't keep up. Soon he'll be doing crazy things like his dad. For example: swimming in May!

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

tomorrow, I'll post this weeks goings on.

Off to Oakville we go!

There's something ironic about blogs. The more busy you are having fun the less time you have to write about the fun.
Friday we drove down to Oakville. The drive was quite nice and I love my MP3 player. We met up with Pamela and Grandpa. We went out for a very nice roller blade/bike ride. 15 km along lake Ontario with the sun beaming down and a nice breeze. I'm glad we went on Friday afternoon. Much less busy than Saturday might have been. We came back and had a very nice steak dinner with asparagus. Surprisingly, we all love asparagus. Dessert was yummy too. Fresh blueberries and ice cream. After dinner we went out and did Hikers Heaven(too expensive) and The Running Room. Pamela purchased a pair of running shoes in less than 15 min. (we could all take lessons) Did you know that most of Oakville's grocery stores are open 24/7. What a shock! But the drugstores close early. Go figure. An all round fun day!

Bachelorette Party

I went out to Lisa's bachelorette party. It was a lot of fun as usual to see them and have a few drinks. Cock 'n Bull is always relaxed and often has good music. I took a few pictures but since the camera takes so long non of them are worth posting.

This morning we packed a pic-nic and dragged Christina to the nearest pic-nic table on mount-bruno. It was a little grey but quite nice. The fresh smells and sounds of spring. We walked back and Christina put some laundry on and off to Walmart we went. Picked out some fun stuff and some bbq sauce and marinade that was on sale.

We went back to the house and made bbq chicken for dinner. It was pretty good. Christina and I gave Mommy some belated birthday presents. I got her a two piece bathing suite. Two pieces are sooo much more convenient.

This week we'll be tidying the house in between watching all the season finale's. There's only 2 season finale's I really want to watch. Gilmore Girls and The OC.

Hope everyone has a great week.

This is the Bently Continental GT I saw waiting for me to cross Rene-Levesques but in blue. Pretty impressive.  Posted by Hello

Tourist Season (is that like duck season)

Today I came accross a common variety of the Tourist species. "the american college male" They hang arround in gangs and although they're brains are small they manage to hunt down large amounts of food.

Today I was at BK and while standing in line to order, I heard one of the guys say. "Don't order number eight" I assumed it was because he didn't like it the last time. He declared it had "poison" in it. I looked up to make sure I wasn't ordering it and #8 was a "Sandwich au Poisson". I know not everyone likes fish but that's a little harsh don't you think?

One thing that the tourist bring in besides money are fancy cars especially since we host "F1" and "The Molson Indy". Last week I came home and told Eric that I saw a really fancy Chrysler. Well.... I saw another one and, upon furthur investigation, I noticed a small B in the wings. I came home and confirmed my suspicions. The 150K $ Chrysler was really a Bently Continental GT. I'd never seen a Bentley in real life.

Just Updating

Since I posted our calendar, things have been added and I'm sure there is still more to come. Yippy !!!

Couple of random things to note.
I found The Container Store online. They have an Unbreakable Pitcher . I'd like to make a trip down there this summer. There are two in the Boston area. I could also be convinced to visit the LLBean outlet store.

All these links are very cool. It's the closest I've come to HTML. So far so good.

Just for Grandpa! We found an electric BBQ that looks like a real BBQ. The MasterChef Electric BBQ at Canadian Tire of course.

The weekend is coming but we have no big plans like the rest of the month. Eric has Becket on Saturday night and we want to go to Mount-Bruno with friends if the weather permits on Sunday.

Off to Lala land it's late!

Busy as a bee.

Today is Mother's day. Mother's everywhere getting gifts, being pampered and hopefully at least a nicely cooked meal. Tim and Chris had us over with my in-laws and my grandmother-in-law. They always make a lovely meal. Fresh baked goods, salmon, fruit salad and other delicious items. I chipped in my Caesar salad and some mini cheese cakes. Can't go wrong with them.

After, Eric hung out with his little brother who was all excited to go bowling while I took the bus over to my parents with another Caesar salad kit in my pack. I put every thing in the fridge and conned MJ to go for a walk on the mountain. There were no other takers.

We did the "Expert" trail. Boy there were a lot of hills! The gravel makes it a little slippery. I took a few pictures since the day was beautiful. Most of them were pretty washed out but I've salvaged 2 for your viewing pleasure.

Well... steak was abundant at our house. Yesterday Mommy went grocery shopping and saw some nice thick steaks on sale so she bought them. Christina also went out, as planned, on the way home and bought steaks for dinner. Sooo with all that steak we invited MJ and Ron also for dinner. (still some left over) A good time was had by all and Eric even came home with his eye brows. hehehe. He BBQ'd the steaks and there was some flamage that went on even 2 min after he turned off the gas. It's all good !
Very enjoyable day.

Trilliums everywhere. White, yellow and red. I took quite a few pictures of them but this is the best. The closer the better is the trick.  Posted by Hello

Rosy Cheeks

Pamela called this morning to check in with us. Eric was disappointed that they didn't speak but we'll have 6 hours of her straight in 2 weeks. They can catch up them. Everything seems to be pretty good with her. It's going to be nice to have her visit and see our new house with our personal touch on it. She was the first person to see the house but that was many renovations ago.

This morning I made Caesar salad dressing. It's sooo easy and yet so good. I bought the anchovies and put the rest in the freezer on a tray. I hope to pick them out one at a time when I want to make it again.

Today was the annual car wash. A gang of friends get together and wash their cars. This year the men watch wall the women watched. The sun was out and there was a breeze. I wasn't sure until I looked in the mirror just now that I had a nice burn. It was even though I was wearing my hat like a good little girl.

Pamela sent me her itinerary. I marked her on the calendar in green. We're in red. She's got more on the calendar than we do. June is shaping up to be a very busy month. Don't worry. My calendar is dry erase for when Pamela changes her mind. hehehe.

Beautiful day in the City

It's gorgeous 18 degress at 8:00pm what else could you ask for? ( i know a million bucks would be nice) Yesterday was a big day for me. I went out and did something new by myself. I checked out the New Montreal Library. It's very nice, spacious and well lit. I just dipped my toe in the experience. There were many people so I'll go back when it's not to crowded and do their guided tour and get one of thier fancy FREE memberships. Ohh and find the english section. Since Eric finishes late on Thurdays, I walked over to the library after work. It took me just under an hour but it feelt great. It was easy to get home from there. From door to door 40min.

Plans for the week-end... Going to wash all the cars at Paul and Murielle's and some dinner on the BBQ. If I'm lucky, I'll get a ride downtown with Tim and Chris. Sunday's monthers day and we plan to go over to Tim and Chris'. They've requested my mini cheese cakes. Mmmm... so easy yet so good.
I'm going to try and get out and walk the mountain. It will be very nice. This time I wear my nice hiking boots. None of this flimsy running shoe buissiness. Hopefully, Christina will prepare dinner for Our mother. Something nice like steak or good hamburgers or what every I don't have to cook. Hehehehe.

Who needs rain!

Well.... It's May. We've gone through April Showers. They should be over leading to May Flowers. I suppose I should be happy that my house keeps me dry but I'm looking forward to spending time outside in the sun.

I notice some new growth in my plant out the front. The one that attracts ants. I'm looking forward to see my plants grow into a nice garden. So far it's pretty dreary and the flower boxes need some work. Hopefully the flowering plants will hide all that.

I'm glad to know that everyone is feeling better. Christina went back to work on Monday. I'm not sure how she is but I think she was just sick of being sick.

Tomorrow is Gilmore Girls night. It's one of my favorite programs. I've never rearranged my schedule to watch a TV show before but this one I love.

Momy's big 50th b-day

Hello, It started off as a simple plan to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday. My sisters and I though out some ideas and thought that brunch would be best. Eric and I went to a lovely place that served a 7 course brunch that was very tasty with lovely ambiance. About a month before her birthday I invited her dad to come and surprise her. He accepted and would come stay at our place. We talked about birthday presents and thought a wireless card would be best.

The week before her b-day Daddy and Christina were very sick with different ailments. Even after rest, medication and doctors they were not at their best. I called my grandfather the night before the trip from Toronto to update him on this situation so that he could make an informed decision on whether to come decision. He said he wanted to make the trip anyway. It was all set he was going to see friends in Kingston and drive into Montreal on Saturday morning. Well, he was in an accident on the way to Kingston. He turned out fine but wanted the dealer to make sure his car was fine too. Since it was Friday, they weren't going to see it until Monday. He then called to let me know he was taking the train in and asked me to pick him up downtown.

I finished the birthday cake for Mommy and picked him up. We went out for dinner and to a play. It was lots of fun. We had a nice dinner with good conversation and the play was fun. (even though it went on very late). Sunday! the big day we all met up for brunch. MJ, Ron, Mommy, Daddy, Eric and I. We thought it best that Christina stay home and rest. Everyone enjoyed brunch at Le Fleuron. Food just kept coming and it was fresh and tasty. We left there content and full.
Mommy and Daddy took Grandpa to see the boat, while we went home. Since Christina was likely contageous, they came back to our house for the afternoon before we drove him back to the train.
Mommy showed be how to debone a salmon. It's a lot of work and I'll need yet another kitchen item. lol a filet knife! We drove Grandpa back to the train station after his short but very nice visit.
For dinner, I made my first stuffed salmon. It was excellent. Everyone gobbled it up even Daddy who hasn't had much of an appetite lately. The cake I made came with mixed reviews. It was a lot of work for the result. Well all in all things turned out well except Christina couldn't make it. Never thought it could get so exciting planning a simple brunch.
